The Staff Architect is responsible for the planning, development and execution of new construction and renovation projects from inception through to completion, as well as master planning and lifecycle management activities for Bayhealth enterprise-wide. Will contribute significantly to the overall direction of architectural design, campus planning, landscape architecture, and capital planning. Coordination with various hospital departments and committees, City, County, and State agencies, Associate Architects and Consulting Engineers, and Construction Firms.

Minimum Education and Experience:




Bachelor degree in Architecture


5 years' experience in architectural design or related work experience, at least 3 years within healthcare

5 or more years' experience in health care construction.

Computer/Software Knowledge:

Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD designing with a proven track record of successful execution of projects

In-depth knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, REVIT, and other designing applications

In depth knowledge of MS Project software and ability to schedule projects.

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office or similar software, as well as Email software.

Expert level experience designing and modeling healthcare projects using REVIT


Licensed Architect or ability to obtain a DE Architectural License within 2 years.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

o Knowledge of JC/CMS and FGI standards applicable to health care construction; state codes, standards and regulations.

o Analytical skills necessary to interpret and develop plans and specifications.

o Ability to read and develop plans, specifications and other documents related to construction projects.

o Knowledge of budget control and accounting normally associated with construction management.

o Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to lead a group to develop and execute solutions to construction problems

o Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
